Includes Plug Adapters for Electronics and Small Appliances.  Sales Package P-100 consists of the Model A220-15D Quick 220® Voltage Converting Power Supply plus plug adapters that connect the 220-240 volt plugs on equipment from Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and Australia. 

  • Each plug adapter is rated at 10 amperes maximum. The Quick 220® system supports the use of 2 plug adapters for a system total of 15 amperes maximum. Due to the large size of UK-style plugs, only one UK plug can be usually inserted.
  • The plug adapters provide a ground connection for all grounded plugs except the European Schuko style plug with ground contact on the outer circumference of the plug body. If grounding is desired for Schuko plugs, use Quick 220® Sales Package P-105.
  • The plug adapters will not accommodate the large, old-style Indian/South African plugs. Please call and we will recommend options for this plug style.
  • THE PLUG ADAPTERS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE ARE NOT RATED FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING. For details on Electric Vehicle Charging see "Electric Vehicle Charging."

Power Requirements:  The Quick 220® Power Supply uses two outlets from two different 110-120 volt circuits that are out of phase and not controlled by ground fault interupters (GFI) or arc fault circuit interupters (AFCI). The Quick 220® Power Supply has built in circuitry to test for the out of phase circuits. A separate tester is supplied to check the outlet for a GFI. Most buildings have numerous outlets that meet these two requirements.


Applications include technical equipment, computer servers, power tools, international appliances, air conditioners, air compressors, and exercise equipment.

1. Certification. The Quick 220® Power Supplies conform to the fire and safety standards of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and OSHA (United States Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration.)
  1. UL and CSA publish product safety and testing standards for use in the United States and Canada. Quick 220® Power Supplies conform to UL Standard for Safety Power Units (UL1012) and to CSA Standard for General Use Power Supplies (CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 107.1.)

  2. Intertek Testing Services, an OSHA/CSA recognized laboratory, tested and certified the Quick 220® Power Supplies to both UL and CSA standards. Additionally, Intertek regularly inspects Quick 220® Systems to assure continuing compliance with the standards. Quick 220® Power Supplies are listed In the Directory of Intertek Certified Products and bear the Intertek "Listed" Certification Mark for both the US and Canada.

  4. UL, CSA, OSHA, and the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories address the safety of products that are brought into the home or business. The NEC (National Electrical Code) addresses the permanent wiring of buildings and other facilities. In general, if it is in the walls or a permanent part of the facility, NEC defines how to do it safely. If you can plug it in, then UL, CSA, OSHA, and the testing laboratories handle product safety.

2. Internal Safety Interlocks that function as follows:
  1. No power is available at the 240 volt outlet until BOTH 120 volt power cords are plugged into 120 volt outlets that are electrically out of phase. Should one of the 120 volt power cords lose power or become disconnected, ALL power is immediately cut off from 240 volt outlet. This protects the user and the equipment from the effects of the equipment receiving the wrong voltage by mistake or circumstance.

  2. Until a 120 volt power cord is connected to a 120 volt electrical source, it is electrically isolated from the electrical circuits of the Quick 220® Power Supply. This protects the user from accidental shock through the exposed plug contacts.

  3. If one of the 120 volt supply outlets of the building is wired incorrectly and has the hot and neutral lines reversed, the Quick 220® Power Supply stops any electricity from being connected to the 240 volt outlet. This prevents potential injury to the user and damage to the connected equipment.

3. A double pole circuit breaker is mounted in the side of the case, recessed to prevent accidental on/off switching. It is either a 15 or 20 ampere breaker, depending on the model Quick 220® Power Supply chosen. The breaker protects the item connected, the Quick 220® Power Supply, and the building wiring. Incidentally, the branch circuit breakers in the building perform the same functions at a different level. When extension cords are used, the user should use electrical cords of sufficient wire size for the ampere load as outlined in the instructions.
